Am anxious to see this with a larger staff for younger children. Am thinking of having some of the students compose a little song as a Christmas gift for a parent. We’ll roll it up and wrap it in Christmas wrapping. They’ll take it home with them on their last lesson before Christmas.

I have given this arrangement to three of my students and they all loved it! One of my students said she really liked it because it sounded more difficult than it was. She was excited to go home and play it for her mom.

My students are loving these! Especially the funny food worksheet – a young student yesterday could not stop laughing about eating a blue turkey.

I have no idea why I left those off. I usually make things for my own students and just post to share with others in case someone would like to use it. Probably my student knew those notes! If I revise it, I will include B and D.

This is sure to be a hit with two of my students who, after a rocky start followed by a long hiatus, are basically starting over and back to a pre-reading level. They’ve been introduced to eighth notes before, but question the need for all these different types of notes! This will be an excellent demonstration for them as I plan to play it for them with wrong note values and see if they can name that tune. Hopefully I’ll play it so dreadfully they can’t recognize it and it will illustrate the need for note values! Then they can have fun learning a fun and familiar song.

Just wondering why the Turkey Notes worksheet (the turkey is very cute, by the way!) doesn’t include B and D around middle C? Those seem to be the two most confused notes for my beginning students, they need all the reinforcement they can get on distinguishing one from the other!

Thank you so much for all of your creativity! I was trying to print out some of your “Texas Theory Test” things today, but I couldn’t get the PDF to open. Yesterday I printed out some of your Thanksgiving games just fine, but today, it’s not working. Just wondering if you had any ideas?
