One Minute Club Challenge Chart

One Minute Challenge 2012

I made a chart to track the minutes it takes students to “say and play” their notes. Please see my previous post on the One Minute Club for directions. Students enjoy watching their time increase week by week. Click on the caption above to print this. You cannot print from clicking on the picture. Depending on your printer, you might notice odd margins when you print it out. To make it look nicer, I trimmed off the white edges on my copy.

Notice the graphics? I used the same theme as my binder cover and calendar. Did my students notice? The girls did!

Speaking of the calendar, I wonder if I should update it for 2012? Is anyone interested?

  1. i LOVE all of your materials! Thank you so much for sharing these. My printer is drinking ink, as though it was water. I’d love to use printed paper. Is there any way to print the very colorful ones without the colored background?

    • Mary,
There is no way to print them without the backgrounds. Try printing on economy mode, sometimes called “fast”. I make my backgrounds light so they don’t use too much ink. But thanks so much for the suggestion. I’ll try to make more without backgrounds in the future! I guess I get carried away!

      • Thanks for responding! I wonder if it would be more cost effective to just go to Kinko’s to print a good many of them at once. Since I saw that what you have done is also very artistic, I appreciate it even more (using Photoshop and all). I’ll have to investigate. It would seem that I could consider the cost of paper and ink, or printing, a business expense. Mary

      • Mary,
Many teachers are now charging a printing and paper fee at registration. That is certainly fair. As for Kinkos, I have not found it cost effective for color printing. Black and white is a lot less. But it is worth a try.
Have you tried printing one copy and putting it in a sheet protector and using dry erase or wet erase pens? Or laminating them? You can laminate them with clear book covers to save money.

  2. Thank you for the “One Minute Chart” and membership cards. I started using it yesterday. There is always a mix of readers, some great and some not so great. This is my focus for this year, to have them all be great. Thanks for the incentive and of course the beautiful artwork.

    • Thank you so much! Nothing makes me happier than to think other students are learning something from what I do. The piano community is really the best group of people you could hope to be involved with.
